Work hack #38: No emails in the morning

For many people, mornings are the most productive time of the day. The mind is fresh and the conditions are ideal for completing important tasks, such as the creation of good content, development of concepts, or the gathering of ideas. But what do most people do? They take just a quick look at their inbox and end up wondering why at the end of the day their to-do list is twice as long as it was in the morning. The problem is, e-mails force us to react and slow down our proactive activity. We are constantly in response mode instead of developing our ideas and pushing projects forward. It would be better to block out specific time slots for e-mails per day. If possible, the first one should not be before late morning. That way we have the whole morning to get the creative juices flowing.
